My Research Interests

As a postdoctoral researcher in theoretical physics, I am interested in seeking quantum mechanical behavior in mechanical resonators or simply: quantum-in-mechanics. Since the mechanical systems are not easily controllable in a direct way, other means are necessary for harnessing them; like electromagnetic fields or spin states. Therefore, some of my research interests are:

  • Quantum cavity optomechanics
  • Circuit QED and superconducting qubits
  • Spin-motion interaction

My motivations for working with the mechanical quantum systems are basically twofold: Foundations of physics and quantum information processing. These have brought my attention to the following fields, as well:

  • Testing sources of decoherence and localization
  • Continuous variable quantum information processing by employing mechanical resonators.
