The Institute for Theoretical Physics of the University of Ulm, led by Prof. Martin B
Plenio and Prof. Susana F Huelga, is pursuing research in a wide variety of directions
and offers opportunities to join our team to work on a wide variety of projects to pursue Bachelor, Masters and PhD thesis as well as postdoctoral work

To support our research in the framework of the recently awarded ERC Synergy grant
Diamond Quantum Devices and Biology (BioQ) we are seeking candidates to work on

  • Colour Centers in Diamonds for Sensing and Quantum Simulation
  • Quantum Effects in Biological Systems
  • Quantum Many-Body Systems and their Numerical  Description

in close collaboration with the experimental team of Prof. Fedor Jelezko.

To further support our research in the framework of the Alexander von Humboldt Professorship, the EU Integrating Project SIQS and the EU STREP project PICC we are seeking candidates to work in the areas of

  • Quantum Simulators with Trapped Ions, Atoms and Photons,
  • Quantum Many-Body Systems and their Numerical  Description
  • Entanglement Theory and Efficient Quantum State Tomography.

Bachelor/Master
